Bus assistant: The volunteer assistant is an important link between senior participants, the bus driver and Parkgate Community Services Society. Bus trips go to Lynn Valley Shopping Centre to provide seniors with access to available amenities. Trips run every Friday from 11 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m. This is a fun and rewarding position.

Volunteer canvasser: The Heart and Stroke Foundation is looking for volunteers for the month of February to go doorto-door in North Shore neighbourhoods seeking donations for research and health promotion.

Family centre volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help with Family Drop-In, preparing snacks and socializing with parents and children. Program runs Monday morning and afternoon and Wednesday morning. Volunteers' shifts are either Mondays or Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon or Mondays from noon to 3 p.m.

Tea time volunteers: Volunteers are needed to set up tables, get supplies from the main kitchen, make tea and coffee, serve the seniors and visit/ chat with them. Volunteers are needed for Sundays from 9: 30 a.m. to noon, holidays and on a substitute basis when regular volunteers are away.

ESL aide volunteer: Vancouver Community College is looking for volunteers to teach English in their Homefront Program. Volunteers will be teaching ESL to recent immigrants, often young moms with babies.
