Lynnmour Elementary student Berkem Duru, 9, grew his hair for two years before recently having it cut for charity.
His family held a party at their Maplewood townhome on Jan. 21 and watched as a hairdresser clipped Duru’s 10-inch ponytail.
Afterwards, Duru donated it to the Wigs for Kids BC program, which provides free custom-fitted human-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other serious illnesses.
