Six-year-old Dylan Lilley and his sister Taylor, 4, discover a giant “golden ticket” at a North Vancouver District Public Library branch. In honour of the 50th anniversary of both the library and the children’s classic book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the library has launched a Find a Golden Library Card Competition. Fifty special golden library cards will be hidden throughout the library’s three branches: Lynn Valley, Capilano and Parkgate. Those who find a golden card get to keep it and use it as their own special library card. Plus, finders are entered to win prizes donated by London Drugs, Black Bond Books, Delany’s Coffee and Kidsbooks. The contest runs until Sept. 27. Find hints at nvdpl.ca.
