Kids get creative with ads

We recently asked kids in the community to help us design some ads for the paper. The Kids Design the Ads program was an opportunity for North Shore students to learn a bit about the business of a community paper, and share some of their great ideas.

We recently asked kids in the community to help us design some ads for the paper.

The Kids Design the Ads program was an opportunity for North Shore students to learn a bit about the business of a community paper, and share some of their great ideas.

A few weeks ago, we visited participating schools to give students an overview of the North Shore News, and explain some basic principles of advertising and marketing.

The students then flexed their creative muscles designing ads for some of our clients.

Click through the photo gallery above to see the submissions from students in five different grade 4/5 classes from Dorothy Lynas, Gleneagles, Ross Road, and Westview schools.

Thanks to all the students, teachers, and North Shore News staff who participated.
