Seymour Scouts Annual Christmas Tree Fundraising Sale will take place until Dec. 23 at Parkgate Village shopping centre at the corner of Mount Seymour Parkway and Mount Seymour Road, North Vancouver. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit various scout programs.

Dog Handlers' Christmas Donations Drive: Local dog walking companies will be collecting pet food and supplies, as well as funds until Dec. 24 for three Lower Mainland charities: Pacific Animal Foundation (PAF), Action for Animals in Distress and Cross our Paws, who will then distribute them to needy animals. Dog or cat food donations, as well as pet supplies such as blankets, food dishes, towels and kitty litter will be welcomed. For pick-up phone 604-990-9062, 604-986-3405 or 604-319-3647. Stamp Collection Fundraiser: Bring your stamps from Christmas cards into the receptionist at the North Shore News, 100126 East 15th St., North Vancouver. They are collected for the Eastern Star who raise funds (about $15,000 plus yearly) and donate it to be used to prepare bandages and cancer dressings, etc.

Carol Ships Parade of Lights 2011: Ships will be in the Ambleside/Dundarave area on the evening of Dec. 18. There will be bonfires and activities at Dundarave Park. Info: www.carolships.org.

Christmas Concert: The West Vancouver Seniors' Choir will be performing a concert where the audience will be encouraged to sing along, Sunday, Dec. 18, 1: 30-3: 30 p.m. at the West Vancouver Seniors' Centre, 695 21st St. Admission: $5.50 which includes refreshments.

Christmas Crawl: Members of The North Shore Celtic Ensemble and guest musicians will perform in three different Lynn Valley locations on Sunday, Dec. 18. The annual crawl will start at The End of The Line General Store at 2 p.m. then move to The Lynn Valley Legion at 3: 30 p.m. and finish at Waves Coffee House at 4: 40 p.m. Admission is by donation. The group will be raising money for The North Shore Harvest.

Spot Santa on Seymour: Santa will bring holiday cheer to Mount Seymour Dec. 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Enquist Lodge at the SnowPlay Park. Bring a non-perishable food item or a cash donation for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and have your picture taken with Santa for a free.

Operation Red Nose will drive individuals home in their own car for free Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Call 604-619-0942 for a ride. Donations will be accepted to support youth programs.
