Charity Tree Lot: Aunt Leah's will be selling Christmas trees at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 220 West Eighth St., North Vancouver. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 1-9 p.m. and Friday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Parade of Trees: The public is invited to browse through the tree display in the Spirit Gallery on Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver until Dec. 24. Guests are encouraged to cast a ballot for their favourite tree. Admission to the gallery is free; however there is a suggested minimum donation of $2 for those participating in voting.

Stamp Collection Fundraiser: Bring your stamps from Christmas cards into the receptionist at the North Shore News, 100126 East 15th St., North Vancouver. They are collected for the Eastern Star who raise funds (about $15,000 plus yearly) and donate it to be used to prepare bandages and cancer dressings, etc.

Holiday Hi-Light Festival: Park & Tilford will have a display of more than 50,000 lights at the community gardens until Dec. 31 at 333 Brooksbank Ave., North Vancouver. Donations will be collected at the garden entrance with net proceeds going to the Kiwanis Club.

Village Tree Festival: Over 30 decorated trees will be on display until Jan. 2 near the Taphouse at Park Royal Village. The public is encouraged to vote for the best tree.

Christmas by the Sea - Parade of Trees: The North Vancouver Chamber will host an inaugural display of 30 decorated trees until Jan. 7 at Shipbuilders' Square, 138 Victory Ship Way, North Vancouver. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Harvest Project and Hollyburn Family Services - Youth Safe House.

Dundarave Festival of Lights: View a forest of decorated trees until Jan. 7 at Dundarave Beach in West Vancouver and make donations to support Lookout Emergency Aid Society's North Shore shelter. On Saturday evenings there will be free family concerts. Info: www.dundaravefestival.com.

Argyle Music Senior Christmas Concert: Argyle secondary will perform an evening of traditional Christmas music Wednesday, Dec. 14, 7: 30 p.m. at St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, 1022 Nelson St., Vancouver. Tickets at the door: $10/$5. Guests are requested to bring a non-perishable food donation for the food bank drive.

Winter Harp: Harps, medieval instruments, flute, singers and

Lions Gate Sinfonia Orchestra will hold a free open rehearsal for their Christmas concert Thursday, Dec. 15, 7-8 p.m. at John Braithwaite Community Centre, 145 West First St., North Vancouver.

Seasonal Storytime: A free drop-in session for children ages three and older will take place Thursday, Dec. 15, 4-4: 30 p.m. at Lynn Valley library, 1277 Lynn Valley Rd., North Vancouver.

Christmas Concert for Haiti: Seven groups of youth from the North Shore will perform a musical fundraiser Friday, Dec. 16, 6: 30-8: 30 p.m. at the North Shore Alliance Church, 201 East 23rd St., North Vancouver. Pet Pictures with Santa Paws will take place Saturday, Dec. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Whole Foods Market, Park Royal village. Pictures are for a minimum donation of $5. All proceeds will benefit the animals at the West Vancouver SPCA shelter.

Pet Pictures with Santa will be available Dec. 17 and 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PetSmart, 1325 Main St., North Vancouver. Cost is $9.95 with a large portion of the proceeds going to Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association, to support their work in rescuing stray kitties.
