The City of North Vancouver’s Living City Awards Program is accepting submissions for their annual award until April 26.

The program recognizes “outstanding leadership in environmental sustainability in our City,” according to a release from the city. Local businesses, community groups, school groups or individuals who are making a difference are eligible to apply. The Living City Awards Program strives to inspire more people in the community to take part in protecting the natural world by celebrating the already-active community “champions.”

Leadership in any of the following areas can be recognized: energy conservation, environmental protection and enhancement, zero waste, sustainable transportation, urban agriculture, water conservation, education, and awareness.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Advisory Planning Commission. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on April 26, 2019. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the City of North Vancouver’s website
