Calling all writers: Applications open for North Shore Authors Collection

Selected works by North Shore authors will be on display for a year in North Vancouver and West Van libraries

North Shore writers searching for a way to spread their words should look no further than the latest edition of the North Shore Authors Collection.

North Vancouver and West Van libraries are now taking applications for the 2025-26 collection, inviting authors of all ages who are currently residing on the North Shore (including Bowen Island and Lions Bay) or who lived here during the year of publication to submit their applications by June 30. Those chosen will have their titles on display at the three participating libraries for one year beginning in the fall.

The books can be traditionally published, self-published, or independently published, and can be of any genre and in any language, but must be professionally bound for public borrowing, and published between 2015 and 2025.

The North Shore Authors Collection, launched in 2019, champions local literary talent by inspiring, supporting, and celebrating authors from the community. Since its inception, the collection has featured more than 321 authors and 413 titles in North Shore libraries.
