Ron Smith, teacher of history and social studies at Bodwell High School, was one of two recipients honoured on Canada Day with the highest award given to an organization outside of the Royal Canadian Legion, The Friendship Award. It was bestowed to recognize Smith's extraordinary undertaking to teach his students about veterans and the sacrifices they made for our freedom.
