The North Shore chapters of Grandmothers to Grandmothers, including members Sylvia Korteling and Eleanor Scarth, are hosting a Scrabble, lunch and silent auction fundraiser March 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at North Lonsdale United Church.

Scrabbling For Africa proceeds benefit the Stephen Lewis Foundation which provides sustainable funding for African grandmothers. This allows them to participate in psycho-social counselling, income-generating projects, HIV-prevention programs and to become expert leaders in advocating for their human and civil rights.

Tickets for the event are $30 and are available by calling 604-985-7167 or 604-929-4882.
