If you’re looking for a few good things to do this weekend why not start with First Impressions Theatre’s production of A Few Good Men, Aaron Sorkin’s play about political and military intrigue set in a high-stakes courtroom drama. (And yes, the play came out before the movie!) Directed by Claude A. Giroux, the 15-person ensemble cast is performing the play until March 17 at Deep Cove Shaw Theatre. Tickets are $25 with upcoming show times on Friday, March 2 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. Seats can be purchased online or by calling 604-929-9456.

The Panda Pocket Chinese Learning Centre invites you to celebrate the Chinese Spring Lantern Festival and the conclusion of Chinese New Year festivities Saturday, March 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at West Vancouver Memorial Library. The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre invites youth ages three through eight (with adult supervision) for a Worm Squirm event Saturday, March 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. Kids and centre staff will observe worms, learn about decomposers, and help build a worm compost. The Olympics might be over but sports never sleeps on the North Shore. Everyone’s invited to participate in Family Table Tennis Day in a fun, casual environment Saturday, March 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the North Shore Table Tennis Club. The event is free but donations will be accepted benefiting BC Children's Hospital’s cancer unit.

For those fed up with always talking about bridges on the North Shore now’s your chance to actually build one – as long as it’s made of Popsicle sticks. Engineers and Geoscientists BC is hosting its annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Competition at Capilano Mall Sunday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open to kids and adults of all ages, participants are encouraged to design, build and submit their model bridges and bring it to the event this weekend. Bridge building kits can be purchased at Kidsbooks in Edgemont Village.
