Acclaimed author, CBC broadcaster and former West Vancouver-resident-turned-rocker Grant Lawrence will be sharing stories from all three of his books, including the recent Dirty Windshields: The Best and Worst of the Smugglers Tour Diaries, at Deep Cove Shaw Theatre (4360 Gallant Ave.) Feb. 2-3, with both shows kicking off at 8 p.m. The event, billed as “Grant Lawrence and Friends: An Evening of Stories and Songs” will also feature musical interludes, including a set from multi-Juno nominated musician (and Lawrence’s wife) Jill Barber. Capilano Rugby Club is hoping to get a sizeable crowd to come join them at Klahanie Park (1910 Glenaire Dr., West Vancouver) this Saturday, Feb. 3 for a full day of rugby action. Games starts at 11:15 a.m. with the UBC U23 Men squaring off against the Capilano U23 Men; also at 11:15 a.m., spectators can take in the Chilliwack 3rd Division Men Vs. the Capilano 3rd Division Men; and there’s two games starting at 12:45 p.m., the Burnaby Premier Women Vs. the Capilano Premier Women, and the UBC Premier Reserve Men against the Capilano Premier Reserve Men.
