Rainy weather didn’t deter opening day ceremonies for Mount Seymour Little League April 8 at Myrtle Park. The teams paraded onto the field for speeches, players recited the Little League pledge, Sarah Jamison sang the national anthem and, to much cheering, four-time Team Canada member Tyson Gillies threw the first pitch.

Guests included North Vancouver District Mayor Richard Walton, Little League District 5 administrator Wayne  Hobson and North Shore Adults Challenger Baseball co-ordinator Ian McLean.
