Pop-up clinic for COVID shots happening today at City of North Vancouver's civic plaza

Anyone needing a first or second dose of COVID vaccine can drop in for a shot today in North Vancouver.

Vancouver Coastal Health is hosting a pop-up clinic in the City of North Vancouver’s civic plaza on 14th Street, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. today (Sept. 24).

The regular clinic at the ICBC testing centre on Lloyd Avenue is also open through Sunday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from Friday, Oct. 1 to Sunday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Vaccinations rates on the North Shore are generally high. Between 88 and 92 per cent of people over 12 on the North Shore have received one dose and between 82 and 87 per cent of those are fully vaccinated, according to B.C.'s Centre for Disease Control.

Recently, the highest positivity rates for COVID-19 tests on the North Shore have been in the western parts of both the city and district of North Vancouver and in the lower part of West Vancouver. Positivity rates there have hovered between five and seven per cent.
