The District of North Vancouver officially unveiled its new rainbow crosswalk last Friday.

A ceremony was attended by Mayor Mike Little, Couns. Jim Hanson and Betty Forbes, and district staff on Oct. 11 at the location of the new crosswalk in front of the Delbrook rec centre at Del Rio Drive and Queens Road.

Squamish Nation officially unveiled its own rainbow crosswalk at Welch Street and Capilano Road on Oct. 4.

Rainbow crosswalks serve as powerful symbols of inclusion and support in the LGBTQ2 community.

The North Shore saw its first public rainbow crosswalk installed after the City of North Vancouver unveiled its own addition at the intersection of Lonsdale Avenue and 14th Avenue in August.
