Afghan women in spotlight at West Van film screening

Grade 10 STA student Laura Cunningham is preparing to host a special movie matinée this Saturday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the West Vancouver Memorial Library, Welsh Hall.

Enjoy a free screening of Academy-Award nominated film The Breadwinner (PG-13, some violence), followed by a short presentation about the barriers Afghan girls and women experience when trying to access educational opportunities.

Cunningham is member of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan and the West Vancouver Memorial Library Teen Advisory Group.
