5 things to do on the North Shore this weekend

These avocados don’t lie: brunch is clearly the most important weekend meal, and in order to appease eager diners everywhere the Brunch Affair is returning to The Pipe Shop and Shipbuilders Square in North Vancouver this weekend. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, food-seekers can get scrumptious brunch and breakfast items from local chefs and restaurants, as well as hear some live music. General admission is $5. Food and beverage tokens can be purchased once inside. Come hungry.

After indulging in some brunch fare, why not burn it off with an engrossing story-filled walk? Discover North Vancouver’s hidden histories during free-of-charge guided walks through the shipyards starting this Saturday and Sunday, and running every weekend until Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Shipyard pals Sal and Sam will perform stories of North Vancouver’s historic Burrard Dry Dock, historically one of Western Canada’s largest and most productive shipyards.
