Justin Trudeau had a quiet meeting with Burnaby North-Seymour candidate Terry Beech yesterday (Sept. 14) to discuss important topics ahead of election day on Monday (Sept. 20).

Beech's office says the party leader and Beech talked about Canada's $10 a day early learning and childcare plan while also touching on his endorsement for climate leadership from Greenpac, one of 35 candidates across Canada from all parties.

The two also spoke with parents in Richmond about childcare and early learning.

Former Green Party of B.C. Leader Andrew Weaver also appeared with Trudeau in Richmond, where they spoke to media about the party climate plan. Weaver has publicly said Trudeau's plan is the only one he supports of the federal parties.

Beech also received a personal endorsement, with Weaver saying he hopes residents of the riding see how beneficial the incumbent could be in Ottawa.

"As someone who spent my life working in the area of climate science, solutions and policy, I know how critical it is that we have thoughtful people like Terry in Ottawa," he said.

"He works hard and he works smart and I hope the people of Burnaby and North Vancouver can support him in continuing this important work."

General voting day is Monday with polls being open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
