Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival launches new season at Centennial Theatre

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival launched this year’s series at North Vancouver’s Centennial Theatre on Friday Feb. 21 with a sold-out crowd on hand to kick off the event that runs through to March 1. Celebrating mountain culture, travel and outdoor adventure, the festival features a full slate of guest speakers, including opening night’s Shelma Jun, named in 2017 by Outside magazine as one of 40 women who have made the biggest impacts in the outdoor world. Opening night also featured the presentation of the Tim Jones Community Achievement Award to legendary Lions Bay trail builder John Dudley. For festival details, go to vimff.org.
