THE West Vancouver Youth Band's symphonic band was one of only three bands to be awarded gold marks at the recent Con Brio Festival held in Whistler earlier this spring.

The band was the only B.C. band to receive gold marks at this international music festival. Band director Douglas Macaulay was thrilled with the result, according to a written statement.

The 82 year-old West Vancouver Youth Band is a non-auditioned band providing music education for musicians aged 9 to 19. No experience is necessary for beginner band.
