FANS of soul music from the 1960s, 1970s and today are invited to Sisters of Soul, a fundraising concert taking place tomorrow night, Saturday, March 9 at Capilano University's NSCU Centre for the Performing Arts.
A passionate group of talented vocalists and musicians will take the stage to perform classic songs recorded by Etta James, Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross, Martha & the Vandellas, Carole King and Gloria Gaynor.
Performers include Jessi Nicholson, Billy Gollner, Camille Johnson, Catherine Bowers, Colin Weeks and Jane Chadwick.
Funds raised from the evening will support event presenter, Avalon Women's Centres, which provide a supportive environment with resources for women seeking recovery from addiction at three centres, including one in West Vancouver. Proceeds will also support the Amy Winehouse Memorial Bursary at Capilano University.
A VIP reception kicks off at 6: 30 p.m. followed by the show at 8 p.m. Those in attendance will also be able to bid on silent and live auction items.
