A Night for the Girls: Connect Fitness is hosting a sleeveless dress party aimed to encourage and support women and raise funds for North Shore Women's Centre, Aug. 22, 7: 30-10: 30 p.m. on the patio at Milestone's, Park Royal. Women are invited to come together, bear their arms and embrace their beauty in sleeveless dresses, all for a good cause. Raffle tickets are $10, or free by donation of two non-perishable food items. Portobello Petite is taking over the Rize Pop Up Shop (Kingsway and East 10th Avenue in Vancouver) for the month of August. Make way for summer fashions by clearing out unwanted clothing and accessories and donating them to the Canadian Diabetes Association's Clothesline program. Making a contribution is as simple as calling 1-800-505-5525 and arranging for a free pickup. The program currently picks up donations daily from homes in the North Shore area.
