North Vancouver City Library's Read to Me and Summer Reading Programs kicked off Wednesday, July 4 with a launch party in the children's department featuring entertainer Will Stroet who played guitar, sang songs and told stories.
In Read to Me children under the age of five are encouraged to read with someone special and record it all in a reading log. Read to Me wraps up with a party on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 1: 30 p.m. with ventroliquist and puppeteer Kellie & Co. performing a 40-minute show for the kids.
The Summer Reading Club is for chidlren in kindergarten to Grade 6 and promotes reading while the kids are out of school. The program starts tomorrow, Saturday, July 7 at 1: 30 p.m. with Mike Larson from Mike's Critters showing off some strange animals and sharing some weird facts about the animal world. The wrap-up party for the Summer Reading Club takes place Saturday, Aug. 25 at 1: 30 p.m. with magician Matthew Johnson entertaining the group.
