Briefly describe your recent grad art project
There is a total of 16 pieces of art featured in my grad art exhibit. All of them surround the theme of fantasy. Most of them come in a series.
What type of art do you most like to work on?
I love to work on surreal and fantasy art because they are very flexible and creative, unlike real-life sketches, which are boring and still. You can use imagination to create surreal and fantasy art.
Since it's all created by imagination, these types of art can be regarded as an escape from everyday life.
How long did it take you to get good at doing that type of art?
It all depends on how you would define "good." I believe that one can never be absolutely perfect at doing art, thus I am not sure how to answer the question. If I really have to answer this question, then I would have to say that it took me approximately 16 years to get to the level I am now.
Is that type of artwork difficult to do?
Since art is one of my greatest passions, I would say all art is enjoyable for me. And no they are not difficult. I enjoyed the process of making each and every piece.
Is there a type of art you don't yet know how to do but would like to learn how to do?
Yes, expressionism and pointillism (because both use a lot of technique and various vibrant colors).
What do you like best about being an artist?
Being original and creating something that represents myself.
Can anyone be an artist?
Yes, I believe as long as you are passionate about art, then nothing can stop you from being an artist. Everything around us is a type of art; even industrialized products, architectural buildings and the technology we use is all about art. Dramas, movies and music are all types of art, and people who specialize in those types of arts can be called artists too.
Briefly describe your recent grad art project
Some of my favourite projects that were featured in the recent grad art exhibition came from my "Fear" series, which was a branch from my overall theme of "Darkness". Through these projects, I wanted to instill the use of darkness to emphasize and contrast with light.
What type of art do you most like to work on?
My favourite type of art to work with is photography. I enjoy working on photography projects because there are many different possibilities that can come from the images that have been taken. Editing the photos and even deciding how large or small you are going to print them, for example, really makes quite a difference to the photographs.
How long did it take you to get good at doing that type of art?
I believe many people have differing opinions on what a beautiful or intriguing photograph looks like. However, I think that my photography skills began to develop over the past year. Therefore, it has taken quite some time for my skills to improve and turn into something I am proud of.
Is that type of artwork difficult to do?
Taking a picture itself is not a difficult task, however taking a picture that provokes emotion and intrigue to its viewers is much harder to complete.
What do you like best about being an artist?
The best thing about being an artist is that you truly get the chance to be creative and explore your passions through a vast array of art styles.
Can anyone be an artist?
Yes, anyone can be an artist, and luckily there are many different types and styles to explore, so finding one that you enjoy and that you are passionate about should not be an arduous task.
