Message from the President

North Vancouver is fortunate to have such a diverse and abundant mix of small, medium and large enterprises

North Vancouver's nationally important port has been shipping Canada's commodities to the world for a hundred years. Shipbuilding is historic and coming back strong, bringing with it a need for specialized marine trades and services. We have a strong retail and service sector and some of the most popular tourist attractions in the Lower Mainland.

Our film studios bring international attention and produce some of the most popular TV shows. Students come from all over BC and the world to attend Capilano University, which specializes in Business and the Arts.

At the Chamber, we believe it is our role to help create an economic environment so that the entire community benefits. Creating jobs on the North Shore allows employees to live and work in their community and in turn, economic growth helps to support our small businesses, our social services and our community amenities including our theatres & art galleries. We must continue to focus on building a friendly business climate while planning for growth, affordability and keeping our young people in our community.

We invite you to come to the North Shore Business Tradeshow at the Pinnacle Hotel on March 14th and meet some of the great companies and non-profit organizations doing business and good works in North Vancouver. We hope to see you there!

Louise Ranger President of North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce
