Message from the Mayor

2012 has been a great year for West Vancouver!

Our 100th birthday kicked off in March with centennial celebrations at the Library and continued through the year with festivals and events that brought our community together. The sun came out just in time for our June 2 centennial-themed Community Day - it was a wonderful day of song, dance, art and celebration of how far our community has come since those first clusters of cottages 100 years ago.

For two weeks in June, the 100 Years/100 Artists Exhibit at the Ferry Building Gallery challenged talented artists with creating canvases that encapsulated the past and present of our community. Our annual

Harmony Arts Festival also paid homage to the past 100 years and was another resounding success. We even found a way to celebrate our centennial at this year's Dundarave Festival of Lights by decorating a centennial Christmas tree. 2012 truly has been a year worthy of celebration.

Looking ahead, we have many exciting initiatives planned and opportunities for the community to get involved in 2013. Remember, ours is a story still being written, and our centennial celebrations were only the beginning.
