We use the word "hero" often when referring to a famous person known for athletic or political success, but really it should be used for people like Tim Jones and his crew at North Shore Rescue that risk their lives daily as volunteers to make our lives safer. It is with great sadness that I read of his death. I was privileged to spend one long Saturday each July for the last 10 years working with his team on the trails on the North Shore mountains. I will remember Tim as being humble, respectful, passionate, dedicated and yes, in every way a "hero."
