Julia in Paris: In honour of Julia Child's 100th birthday an elegant Julia Child inspired 10-course plated dinner will be served Saturday, Sept. 8 on the roof-pool deck of the Four Seasons Hotel, 791 West Georgia St., Vancouver. A 5 p.m. champagne reception will start the evening, followed by a long table format sit down dinner at 6 p.m. with ten of British Columbia and Seattle's top chefs and pastry chefs. *Fraser Valley Food Show: The fifth annual show will run Sept. 14, 2-9 p.m., Sept. 15, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sept. 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Tradex Trade & Exhibition Centre, 1190 Cornell St., Abbotsford. The event will showcase the bounty of the valley. This year, the show will host two competitions: The Master Chef Competition and the Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition. There will be unique food experiences and shopping opportunities, a chance to learn behind-the-scenes culinary magic from professional chefs and celebrity cooking presentations.
