North Shore Challenger Baseball co-ordinator Tony Makowsky and daughter Jessica welcome the addition of a new equipment storage locker to the league’s home field at North Vancouver’s Norgate Park.

The much-needed storage locker was donated through joint contributions from the City of North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society Local 296 and North Vancouver District Firefighters Charitable Society Local 1183. District firefighter Darryl Emmett (kneeling) and city firefighter Tyler Lentsch joined with other Challenger Baseball players and firefighters in welcoming the new locker, which will allow the league to keep their specialized equipment safe and secure at the field. North Shore Challenger Baseball provides opportunities for youths and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities to play baseball in a fun and safe environment that is structured to the abilities of the players.
