Seniors and caregivers across the North Shore are invited to join one of the year’s most anticipated community events: the 7th Annual North Shore Seniors’ Health Expo presented by Hero Home Care. Taking place on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre and West Vancouver Seniors’ Activity Centre, this free event celebrates the health, wellness and social connections that keep our seniors thriving.
Designed to support healthy aging and to empower seniors with relevant, up-to-date resources, the Expo will feature exhibitors, expert-led information sessions, demonstrations and entertainment. The day promises something for everyone.
A place for connection and new ideas
Now in its seventh year, the North Shore Seniors’ Health Expo continues to grow, reflecting the evolving needs and interests of seniors in West Vancouver, North Vancouver and surrounding communities.
“Information is always changing and there are new ways of improving. The key is to provide the most up-to-date information that impacts seniors. That is our primary mission with this Expo," says Jessica Walker, event manager of the North Shore Seniors' Health Expo.
This commitment is what makes the Expo so valuable! Visitors can explore services and resources related to home care, financial planning, fall prevention, cognitive health, social programs and nutrition — all carefully curated to offer practical and actionable advice.
Keeping seniors active and informed
Alongside the lively tradeshow, the Expo will feature a variety of speaker sessions, free memory testing, free hearing tests and demonstrations. Popular highlights include returning favourites like fall prevention and estate planning workshops, as well as the Alzheimer Society’s Introduction to Brain Health session. The Expo will also explore heavier issues with a panel on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) and a session on elder abuse.
The keynote speaker for this year is BC Care Providers Association CEO Terry Lake, who will speak to the impacts of an aging provincial population and ways in which governments of all levels and civil society can prepare.
“It’s also about bringing seniors together, through exciting programs and social opportunities,” adds Walker. “Isolation can be detrimental to health so making sure there are ways to gather and build relationships is important.”

Expo with an impact
The West Vancouver Seniors’ Activity Centre, with over 5,000 members, will be the hub of activity, offering a welcoming, energetic space where seniors can reconnect, meet new people and take part in everything from wellness demos to interactive discussions.
As the needs of seniors continue to evolve, so too must the resources and opportunities available to them. With the Expo’s focus on cognitive, physical, social, financial and nutritional well-being, this ensures a well-rounded experience for everyone involved. Walker believes it’s crucial that seniors and their caregivers stay informed about what’s possible.
“There will be 50 exhibitors this year, so lots of information to explore in an approachable way,” says Walker. “For example, Davies is offering a session focused on pharmacists and how their growing role in seniors’ health can support those who may be lacking a family physician. This kind of information can bring relief for many who might be experiencing stress around this issue.”

This important event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Expo’s sponsors and volunteers.
With a positive, forward-thinking approach, the North Shore Seniors’ Health Expo presented by Hero Home Care encourages seniors and their families to be proactive in managing their health and building meaningful, lasting community connections.
