A new housing opportunity has arrived on the North Shore for working families looking to put down roots in a vibrant, connected community. Kiwanis North Shore Housing Society (KNSHS), a local not-for-profit with a long-standing commitment to accessible housing, has officially launched its newest development: Kiwanis Village West.
Offering 156 below-market rental units with a variety of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units available, Kiwanis Village West provides the space, comfort and community support needed to grow and thrive in West Vancouver.
Homes built for everyday living
Kiwanis Village West was developed with a clear purpose: to create high-quality, energy-efficient housing where families can live and grow. The new development is intended for individuals and families who live, work and contribute to the dynamic life of the North Shore.
Each unit has been crafted with functionality in mind. Modern finishes, durable materials and energy-efficient appliances support both day-to-day convenience and long-term affordability. The building’s sustainable design reflects KNSHS’ broader mission to build homes that are good for both people and the planet.
“When it comes to sustainability, we are committed to serve and be mindful of our impact and operations,” says Stefan Baune, CEO of KNSHS. “When we designed this building, we were very conscious of planning with high quality, energy efficiency and choices that reflect energy savings for residents and families.”
Residents will also enjoy access to secure bike storage, shared indoor amenities and family-friendly green spaces—places that encourage neighbourly connections and support healthy, balanced lifestyles.
A location perfect for working families
Located conveniently in West Vancouver, Kiwanis Village West offers easy access to local schools, parks, shops and public transit. Residents can enjoy a convenient commute, short walks to daily errands and proximity to services and activities that make life more fulfilling. The North Shore’s natural surroundings—from oceanfront parks to scenic hiking trails—are all just minutes away.
“We’ve chosen materials that reduce energy costs while managing the climate of residences,” says Baune. “We chose windows that reflect sunlight back which reduces heat and energy costs while maintaining a bright space. We included energy recovery units in each residence which means high quality air circulation without losing heat in the winter and the cool of air conditioning in the summer. We have over 260 solar panels across the roof of the building. Everything in the building is powered by electricity and sustainable methods”.
Affordability meets community care
As a not-for-profit housing provider for over 75 years, KNSHS takes pride in offering housing options that are truly below market, without sacrificing quality or care. The organization believes that safe, stable housing is a cornerstone of thriving communities and that affordability should not come at the expense of design or community.
“This is a rare opportunity to live in West Vancouver at a more affordable cost,” adds Baune. “We invite those that are interested to check eligibility and submit an application.”
