Ron Thom home by golf course lists for $2.5M in West Vancouver

The property also includes a greenhouse and heated workshop

Lovers of architecture and the game of golf might be interested in a home that’s now for sale in West Vancouver.

Backing onto the 17th putting green at the prestigious Capilano Golf Club is 119 Stevens Dr., which has been listed at $2.5 million.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house was constructed in 1959 by prolific West Coast Modern builder Ron Thom.

The 2,610-square-foot rancher has many design elements Thom was known for, including post-and-beam construction, skylights, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and dining areas that face the backyard garden.

According to the listing, its current owner is a furniture maker who has “lovingly restored much of its original beauty, adding edge grain fir trim, updated flooring, custom lighting, Miele appliances, and a one-bed suite below.”

The bedroom wing still requires finishing, but there’s enough bamboo flooring, tile and bathroom fixtures to complete the design, the listing states.

Also on the nearly one-third-acre lot is a greenhouse and a heated workshop, “complete with dust collection and many major tools.”
