Yarn bombs need detonating

Dear Editor: I can't believe the City of North Vancouver has allowed people to deface trees. The only difference between "yarn bombing" and graffiti is that it uses yarn in place of paint. I can hear a few people howling that yarn bombing is art.

Dear Editor:

I can't believe the City of North Vancouver has allowed people to deface trees. The only difference between "yarn bombing" and graffiti is that it uses yarn in place of paint. I can hear a few people howling that yarn bombing is art. Have you seen the quality of some of the graffiti that is defacing the city?

The majority of us in North Vancouver live here partly for the appreciation of its natural beauty, not to see trees wrapped in hideous polyester. And here's the rub: Some of our hard earned tax dollars are funding this nonsense.

I would suggest that the knitters take their time and yarn and use it for a more noble cause, such as knitting sweaters for the homeless to keep these poor souls warm in winter. Now that's a cause I can support. Come on folks, let City Hall know how you feel about this.
