In addition to scrutinizing the planned development for the 1300-block in Ambleside in isolation, residents should also take a slightly more holistic view that extends from the start of Ambleside to the end.
Imagine an entry into Ambleside that includes the chic alpine fourplex and new service station to the right and the planned development on the left. You'll know you've entered a distinct area.
Travel Marine Drive dotted with shops till you exit at 22nd Street in view of the beautiful recreation centre and the curvy new seniors' residence.
It's no more "West End" than it is Carmel, Calif., it is uniquely West Vancouver with - as they say - a little work done.
