Dear Editor:
I have mostly enjoyed Trevor Lautens' columns over the years and have found them interesting and entertaining. However, I was flabbergasted at his comments in the column
Sept. 13 vis-à-vis the proposed art gallery for the 1600-block of Bellevue Avenue. My heart bleeds for the poor toddlers, to whom he referred, at having to lose their nice "leafy parking lot" which they walk through on their way to the playground. Instead, they will have the opportunity to enjoy an art gallery. In my humble opinion that waterfront strip could use some culture and as the years go on, the toddlers of today will be the
teenagers and young men and women of the future, who will undoubtedly get more enjoyment from the beauty of art, than a parking lot.
