Waiting for Taylor Way alternate

Dear Editor:

Fifty years ago, Third Street in the Cedardale area of West Vancouver was designated to be an approach to the Lions Gate Bridge. This would have allowed the traffic to be redistributed much more efficiently as compared to what we have today.

With Third Street used as an alternate route, bridge traffic would bypass Taylor Way, Capilano Road and Marine Drive all together, alleviating the massive traffic congestion that we now suffer with on these routes.

Fifty years is a long time to wait for a more efficient system.
