Thanks for more than 1 million pennies

Dear Editor: Thanks to the generosity of North Shore residents, Lions Gate Gogos have reached their goal of collecting one million pennies. In fact, the group is pleased to report that they have actually gathered $10,349.

Thanks to the generosity of North Shore residents, Lions Gate Gogos have reached their goal of collecting one million pennies. In fact, the group is pleased to report that they have actually gathered $10,349.72, which has been donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Lions Gate Gogos would like to thank all penny donors as well as the North Shore News and the businesses that acted as collection points: Village Fish Market and North Shore Smile in West Vancouver; Highlands Cleaners, The Red Tulip Gallery and the Seymour Art Gallery in North Vancouver. Thanks also to the Bank of Montreal for the use of their coin collection machines.
