Dear Editor:
A man gets four years after choking his girlfriend to death and dumping her body in a North Vancouver park (North Shore News, June 22).
If that's not bad enough, he is given credit for 16 months already spent in custody.
His victim gets none of her life back; her three children cannot get their mother back; and people found innocent of crimes they are charged with do not get any of their custody time back. So why should those who are found guilty?
Where is the justice in a system where victims and the innocent suffer more than convicted criminals?
This has happened too many times.
It is time for change, so that punishment is meted out properly to those who most deserve it.
