Should we ticket drivers who cut in front of the merging line?

It’s a move that could make a Benedictine monk violate his vow of silence with a profanity-laden rant.

It’s a move that could make a Benedictine monk violate his vow of silence with a profanity-laden rant. Everyone’s taking their turns merging onto the bridge when some jamook swerves around the crowd and wedges in front, effectively commuting his or her commute. The manoeuvre violates a social contract and defies the teachings of my kindergarten teacher, but it’s not illegal. The City of Delta recently put up barriers to make traffic cheaters more faithful to their lane. Is that enough, or do we need a department of mergers and inquisitions?
