The fate of the Horseshoe Bay-Nanaimo ferry route hung in the balance for a brief moment earlier this week, after a BC Ferries report was unveiled identifying cost-savings measures including the possibility of service cancellation between the two terminals. Following huge public backlash, B.C. Transportation Minister Todd Stone announced Wednesday the Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo-Departure Bay ferry route will stay as is.
