Dear Editor:
Regarding the plastic-shopping-bag environmental issue (Plastic Bags Return to NV Supermarket, Aug. 21, North Shore News), why is it that every time we have some sort of problem we think the government should fix it for us?
The solution is very simple: Let the consumer decide whether to use plastic, paper or cloth; make all available at the store level. If we drown because the ice cap is melting and we've done nothing about it, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.
