Dear Editor:
I had the disgusting misfortune on Remembrance Day to see a local politician up at Local 114 Legion (Lynn Valley) going about selling herself for the Nov. 19 election. Shame on her!
Remembrance Day is a day of remembrance for those who have sacrificed their lives or their health and well-being for this country and those of us in it that have freedom because of their sacrifices.
It is shameful that a politician would intrude on a local legion in North Vancouver to introduce herself, and her counterparts, on a day that clearly is not about them. I thank my two friends who put this awful woman in her place and told her that she shouldn't be allowed in the legion.
Just another reminder that politicians are self-absorbed and egotistical. You have the entire rest of the year to brainwash the general public with your propaganda. Fill your boots, and leave those of us alone who actually have respect for those that are worthy of honour: our Canadian Forces.
God bless each and every one of them who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and their families for what they have endured above and beyond all else. They have all made us Canadians proud.
