Dear Editor:
On March 22 the love of my life got down on one knee, at the North Vancouver restaurant where we had our first date, and asked me to be his wife.
He knows me well enough to predict I was going to order my favorite chocolate dessert, and when it arrived at our table there was the ring placed delicately on top. Needless to say it was the best day of my life to date. I said yes, and the whole restaurant erupted in cheers.
What made it extra special, other then the fact I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, on the way out an older couple came by our table to congratulate us on our engagement. We thought is was very sweet of them but the most baffling part was when we asked our server for our bill, she very kindly said that an anonymous couple had covered our check.
We couldn't believe that such a random act of kindness had touched us. We are very grateful and just wanted to let whoever did this for us know that it totally made our night and we are very thankful.
It inspired us to pay it forward just like strangers had done for us. My new fiancée and I swore that if we are ever lucky enough to witness an event like ours that we would do the same.
Thanks again to the kind couple who helped make our engagement extra special.
The future Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lindsay Toevs North Vancouver
