Dear Editor:

Re: nsnews.com/news/district-of-north-vancouver-lays-down-the-law-in-parks-1.23290949.

So, my local group of obstacle course race fanatics and I are trying to figure out exactly what our fine totals are going to be for our next training activities in the local parks and trails.

Each of the 12 of us give $5 towards having our coach join us; that’s paying for instruction. If we bring our dogs, are we considered organized dog walkers?

Since we’re up at the crack of dawn well before 6 a.m., that’s entering a closed park.

Carrying rocks and logs for weighted training could be considered disturbing the flora even though they are simply deadfall from the winter storms. A finishing dive off the pier in the cove and a swim to shore is another activity subject to fines.

And since there are more than 10 of us from one family unit gathering in the park for a post-workout breakfast, we would need a permit to gather together? We just wanted to confirm is the fine total going to be for each of us or for the group as a whole? We have to budget accordingly ... since our local community government can’t seem to figure out their budget without resorting to reams of new legislation and fines, we thought we set the example for them.
