Dear Editor:

Re: B in Their Bonnets, Jan. 18 editorial viewpoint.

During the weeks of street corner and council meeting protests, I still can’t understand why the old stock of West Vancouver has such a myopic view of traffic management in the area. Maintaining Marine Drive as the sole east-west connection in the area, while aggressively trying to slow traffic on Bellevue and Fulton is idiotic, and the district is to blame.

The failure to establish turn signals and sync lights through Ambleside is a product of government incompetence. Before tearing apart TransLink for trying to provide West Van with adequate transit service, ask why the district has continued to ignore relatively simple traffic fixes for years.
