Re: A Great Restaurant Right on our Doorstep, July 6 The Dish.
Chris Dagenais’ article was just perfect. The Canyon Restaurant in Edgemont Village consistently delivers high quality food and service despite some severe challenges brought about by ongoing construction which causes traffic congestion, the high cost of living on the North Shore which makes it difficult to hire and retain restaurant staff and, as Chris points out, the lack of competition in the village. Scott Kidd is indeed a very creative chef and it is a shame that the Canyon is not full of customers for lunch and dinner.
Other businesses in Edgemont Village have also been suffering due to a perceived lack of convenient parking and the aforementioned construction (will it ever stop?). We need to do more to support our local, independent restaurants and businesses.
