LETTER: Wally’s missed during Cates visit

Dear Editor:

On Sunday (May 8) when my wife and I were passing Cates Park I noticed that at the entrance there was a sign for Wally’s Burgers.

As we had these burgers before and enjoyed them, we immediately turned into the park and looked forward to having them again, especially on Mother’s Day.

What a great disappointment it was when after finally finding a spot to park our car we discovered the concession stand was closed.

At the entrance there should have been a notice stating that during holidays the place was closed. Later on when we left the park we drove to Panorama Park and there we saw an ice cream van cruising. There were no customers due to two ice cream parlours in the Cove but they would have been very busy in Cates Park as the concession stand, as I said, was closed.

Couldn’t something be worked out to please the public?
