Dear Editor:
Re: Vigilante Tree Cutting in Glenmore Angers Residents, Oct. 25 news story.
One of the best things about living on the West Coast in general and the North Shore in particular are the lovely evergreens and other trees. Sure, the view from our house has diminished over the past 30 years since we purchased our home, due to tall trees obstructing the vista. But I would not even consider asking people to cut the trees or do it myself – it’s what makes this area so unique, so very West Coast.
Individuals who are so selfish and self-centred that they break the law to satisfy their needs should be fined a lot more than $1,000.
And tree-cutting services should not take on the work without clear permission paperwork from the municipality.
