Dear Editor:

On Monday, Aug. 14 at approximately 11:30 a.m. my car died at the intersection of Fell Avenue and 16th Street, North Vancouver, just as I wanted to make a right-hand turn onto 16th.

I wanted to thank the South African gentleman and a woman who had stopped at the traffic light and asked if I needed any help. I was waiting for BCAA to come and tow my car, but the wait was an hour and half.

My biggest thanks though go to the gentleman from Lordco and the couple who parked across the street and came to help push my car out of the intersection. Unfortunately, I was still blocking the right turning lane.

To the people who gave me the evil eye and to the people who were so rude (you know who you are) –seriously; did you think I was having fun and wanted to be sitting in my car in the thick of traffic?

It is getting to be an ugly world out there and I am thankful there are still kind and caring people around.
