LETTER: Thanks for making the North Shore more'bear aware'

Thank you for Brent Richter's fine article about the hungry black bear.

The North Shore News over the last 14 years has been such a great help in making the North Shore "bear aware."

In fact, it was about that long ago that we formed the North Shore Black Bear Network because 39 bears were killed in that one year.

Thanks to the help of your paper over that period we had only one bear killed on the North Shore last year.

The North Shore Black Bear Network's next meeting is May 21, starting at 9 a.m. at the B.C. Parks Office, 1610 Mount Seymour Rd., North Vancouver.

The public is welcome to attend.
